Business, General No Comments

BATON ROUGE – Louisiana Economic Development Secretary Stephen Moret recently visited Louisiana Small Business Development Center Technology Center client Geoshield as part of an outreach effort designed to demonstrate the LED’s awareness of the small business community.

One of the LED’s main priorities is the development of Louisiana’s small businesses. Upon meeting with Moret, Geoshield Chief Executive Officer Burns Mulhearn commented on the secretary’s commitment to small businesses.

“The Louisiana Business & Technology Cetner and Secretary Moret provided us with the latest information on available resources, which we can use to grow our business and create more jobs in Louisiana,” Mulhearn said.

As a small business in the LBTC incubator, Geoshield continues to work to develop its window films as an efficient technology, which lowers energy costs and consumption. As energy prices continue to rise, Geoshield window films vastly improve the performance of existing glass windows and decreases air conditioning cost.

Geoshield manufactures and distributes architectural window film. The company is dedicated to providing homeowners and businesses energy saving solutions through solar-control window film. Geoshield uses the latest science and technology to produce the highest quality window films on the market.

The LSBDC partners with Louisiana Economic Development, U.S. Small Business Administration, and participating universities to provide business consulting at no cost to entrepreneurs. LSBDC also offers low-cost training workshops and seminars. These services aim at helping entrepreneurs start, grow, and expand their businesses. The LSBDC Technology Center at LSU provides specialized services to technology companies throughout Louisiana.
